JAMB 2017/2018 Preparation – New JAMB Registrar Speaks Tough

The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissionand Matriculation Board, JAMB, Professor Is-haqOloyede , this time from the former ExecutiveSecretary, National Universities Commission,NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola.In a statement issued during the week, the formerNUC bossstated:“With about nine years as head of JAMB,Professor Dibu Ojerinde has done exceptionallywell. The transformation which he took theBoard through is huge. He modernised theoperations of the Board at such a dizzying pacethat I used to fondly call him the “magician” inJAMB.I noted that he worked with exceptional directors and Ishould single out Dr. Yusuf Lawal who oversees TestAdministration “With the appointment of Prof.Is-haq Oloyedeas the new Registrar, JAMB is in for a revolutionary time interms of delivering more effectively on its mandate.Prof.Oloyede parades excellent documents to lead a wholesector like education in Nigeria hence asking him to head aparastatal in education is like asking a 5-star, battle-testedgeneral to quell a fight between two area boys in AjegunleProfessorIs-haq Oloyede ran University of Ilorin as a modelfor the Nigerian university system and served dutifully asChairman of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of NigerianUniversities and at the continental level, as President of theAssociation of African Universities.
