THE outrageous ACT (My blood)
Season 1 – Episode 1
He walked sluggishly on the bright sunny day. His shadow was visible that the time of the day could be determined from it. People were passing with bags while others were pushing wheelbarrows trying to hustle for life. Cheatmaster got tired of the sun, so he sat at a nearby vacated shop. He was putting on a brown trouser and a pair of shoe. On his body was a white T-shirt and his hair was barbed in a fashionable style. He was chocolate in complexion, on his trouser was a big envelop which he glanced occasionally and hissed.
“How long will i keep carrying this envelop looking for a job?” he soliloquized.
He called a pure water hawker who was passingby to have some cold water. He collected the water and gave the seller who was looking dirty in his black complexion ten naira note.
“I don’t like this money?” the boy said with a sad face.
“What is wrong with that money? Eah?!”
“Look at it nah, people will not collect it from me”
“Get out from here!” he shrieked and opened the pure water and first applied some on his head.
The hawker had no choice but to admit the money with a hope that it will continue its value race.
Marvelous was at home reading a novel in the local sittingroom when Cheatmaster entered. Their house was a small local bungalow which fitted a village farmer not a graduate like Cheatmaster
“Bro Cheatmaster welcome” Marvelous greeted without standing up.
“Cheatmaster sat on another chair without responding to her greetings. Of course Marvelous had a clue of his quietness.
“Where is mother?” Cheatmaster asked.
She went to collect a debt from..”
“Again?!” Cheatmaster interrupted her. “Just get me a cold water” he said.
Few seconds later, Marvelous came with a stainless cup of water. She watched her brother piteously as he drank the water. She could even hear the sound of the water as it moved down his gullet.
“Bro Cheatmaster, i know you are worried again” Marvelous collected the cup from him.
“Just go and keep the cup and don’t disturb me” Cheatmaster replied and laid his head on the black-rest of the chair, then suddenly dose off.
2HOURS LATER
Mrs Glory, their mother came back and met Marvelous well dressed in a jean trouser and a pink light handless top. On her hands were books.
“Where are you going to?” the mother asked which woke Cheatmaster up.
“Mummy, I’m going for lectures”
“I thought you said it would be in the next one hour”
Marvelous was quiet.
“Well, i don’t blame you. It’s because your school is closer to this house” the mother said.
Marvelous walked out without saying a word.
Cheatmaster stood up and began to walk sluggishly into his room.
“Nna, how did it go” the mother asked.
“Mother, it didn’t go as planned” he replied without looking at her.
Marvelous went to the campus, she made sure she was not distracted by anybody as he just came out from the lecture hall. She was sitting under a tree trying to figure out the assignment given to her when Raymond saw her as he was passing. He sat beside her, busy with his phone.
“Hello” Raymond said.
“Excuse me.. Are you talking to me?” Marvelous looked around.
“Yes, how are you?”
“I’m fine”
They went silent
“It seems like you are busy now”
“Yes, very busy”
“My name is Raymond” he stretched out his hands.
“I’m Marvelous” she gently shook his hand.
“I guess i will see you next time, Marvelous”
“Okay”
Raymond walked away with a black bag hung behind him. Marvelous stared at him as he walked out.
1hour later
Cheatmaster was still taking a nap when his Nokia phone rang and vibrated on the bed. He quietly picked the unknown number.
“Hello bro” a male voice said from the other side of the phone.
“Who’s this?” Cheatmaster asked in a dull voice.
“Is me, Kenneth your former Classmate”
“Kenneth!” Cheatmaster shouted and sat on the bed. “Do you know where i have searched for you? When did you come back?”
“Just come over and lets talk?”
The sleep suddenly disappeared from Cheatmaster‘s eyes as he dressed up. He came out and saw his mother in the parlour.
“Mummy, I’m coming” Cheatmaster said. “I want to see a friend”
“Okay, but be careful”
“Alright, mother” he went out..
