STORY: THE TRINITY EPISODE 10

The Trinity (My heart)
Episode 10
David went home angrily. He opened the door and found his parents sitting in the sittingroom.
“David what is the problem?” the mother asked without getting a response. He began to walk towards his room.
“David!!” the father exclaimed before he stopped and turned back.
“Father, can you tell me why you are quarrelling with your fellow man because of a position?!” David said aloud.
“What nonsense are you talking about?!” the father stood up.
“Dad, I’m talking about you and Mr Basi. Why can’t you make peace with him and leave all these position of a thing!”
“Have you gone nutt!” the father exclaimed.
“No father, but you have to put aside all these hatred just because of a position!!”
“David!” the mother called. “You don’t talk to your father like that!”
“But that’s the truth, mother!”
“David, get out of here before i loose my temper” the father said demonstrating with his hand.
David waited for a while and went into his room angrily.
Mr Anthony looked at his wife. “Woman, better warn your son” he said and sat down in anger.
The wife stood up to meet David inside the room…
Meanwhile, Cynthia was still on the floor crying without her father showing concern. He was actually sitting in the sittingroom reflecting on his recent action. He kept on soliloquzing angrily.
Cynthia got tired of crying, she went to bed and called David.
“David, please, I’m sorry about..”
“No, is okay. I understand” David interrupted her. “Is not your fault”
“Thank you” Cynthia said.
“Welcome. I love you”
The line went dead.
Mr Basi needed to sleep, he first went to Cynthia’s room as usual. He opened her door and found her lying on the bed. “Cynthia” he called without getting a reply. He waited for a moment and gradually closed the door.
David actually answered Cynthia’s call in the presence of his mother, Mrs Anthony.
The mother sat on the edge of the bed looking at him. “Was that Christabel?” she asked.
“It wasn’t Christabel, mother” David replied looking at the ceiling.
“Then who else did you tell ‘I love you?'”
David was quiet.
“See son, no matter what, you don’t talk back to your father. You have to show him some respect. He is your father”
David was still quiet. “I’m sorry, mother” he said still looking at the ceiling.
“No, you have to apologise to him not me” the mother said. “By the way, who got you angry?”
David waited for a moment before he replied and said, “I went to Mr Basi’s house and he humiliated me and sent me out of his house”
“What?! But why did you go to his house when you know that him and your father are not in good terms?”
“I went to see Cynthia”
“Cynthia? What for?”
David turned and faced his mother. “Mummy, i love her, i love her so much!”
“David, you must be joking!” the mother left the room.
THE NEXT DAY
Cynthia woke up and went straight into the kitchen. Her father came out in a black suit and trouser. In his hand was a brown suitcase. He walked into the kitchen and found his daughter preparing breakfast.
“Good morning, Daddy” Cynthia greeted without looking at him.
“Morning, I’m off to work”
Cynthia looked at him. “Daddy, won’t you take breakfast before going?” she asked.
“No, I’m okay. I will eat when i come back”
“Okay, safe journey, Daddy” she continued with her preparation while the father gradually closed the door.
5:30pm
Mr Basi came back from work. Cynthia gave him food and went back into her room. She needed a mother to daughter conversation but her mother was nowhere to be found, then she cursed death. Suddenly, the father entered into her room. “Are you okay?” he asked.
“No, daddy” Cynthia replied and sat on the bed.
The father sat beside her. “What’s it?” she asked.
“Daddy, there are somethings i would have loved to discuss with mummy but…”
“You can talk to me” the father interrupted her.
Cynthia waited for a minute, she looked at him and said with a shaking mouth, “Daddy, I’m inlove”
The father smiled. “That’s good my daughter. But who is this lucky man?” he asked.
“Is David Anthony, Daddy”
The father’s faced changed..
