Episode 16
David fell asleep after an injection was given to him.
Everything that happened in the ward seemed to him like a
dream.
Cynthia was finally sent out of the hospital by Mr Anthony,
even the nurses because they believed that she shouldn’t be
there and she cried home.
Mr Basi was still in the parlour boiling in anger when Cynthia
opened the door in tears.
“Why are you crying now?! I hope you disobeyed me and ran
out, now you are back still crying”
“Daddy, you are the cause of all these embarrassment”
Cynthia moved towards her room.
“Come back here, Cynthia!” the father exclaimed, before she
moved back.
“What do you mean by that?!”
“Daddy, if you had made peace with Sir Anthony they
wouldn’t have embarrassed and sent me out of the hospital”
she was still in tears.
“You see what i told you, but you wouldn’t listen to me. You
deserve whatsoever they did to you. Now, get out of my
sight!”
Cynthia when into her room and cried for the whole day.
9:00pm
David regained himself a little-with his eyes closed. He tried
to stretched his hand but the mother rushed him to keep it
steel due to the drip that was fixed on it.
“Hi, son” the mother said and began to touch his hair.
“Mother?” David groaned and managed to open his eyes.
“Where is Cynthia?” he asked.
The mother was quiet pretending not to hear what he said.
“I thought, she was here, or was i dreaming?”
“No son, but she left five hours ago”
“But why, Mummy? I want to see her, please”
“Is already late”
“No, Mummy, i want to see her now” he began to shed tears.
“Please, son, you don’t have to cry in this your condition. I
promise to bring her here first thing tomorrow morning”
“Promise, mother”
“I promise”
Suddenly, a nurse entered to do her work.
Meanwhile, Mr Anthony was at home when his wife called
telling him that David is awake. He was so happy and
promised to be at Mercy hospital first thing tomorrow
Morning.
Mr Basi entered Cynthia’s room as usual and found her not
sleeping, rather sitting on the bed with her teddy bear. He
stared at her for a long time without Cynthia doing as if
someone has opened her door. Mr Basi couldn’t see the
rightful word to bring out her daughter from that mood, then
he gradually closed the door.
“Daddy!” Cynthia called which made him open the door
again. “I’m sorry, Daddy, and.. I love you”
The father’s heart melted by her words, he stared at her
without knowing what to say, then he nodded his head
positively and closed the door.
THE NEXT DAY
Mrs Anthony was still sleeping on the chair beside the bed
where David was lying when David woke her up. “Good
morning, mother”
“Are you awake already? How are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling better. Mummy, can you go and call Cynthia
now?”
“No, son, eat something first” she stood up and opened the
corboad beside her.
“No, i won’t eat until i see Cynthia”
The mother stood steel in thought. “Okay, why don’t you call
her on phone?” she suggested.
“No, Mummy, her father won’t allow her to come”
Mrs Anthony was pressurized by David until she went to Mr
Basi’s house that morning.
Meanwhile, Cynthia was in the kitchen while her father was
dressing up in his bedroom when Mrs Anthony knocked at
the door. Cynthia came out to open the door while her father
also came out from the room at the same time. Cynthia
opened the door and was shocked to see Mrs Anthony, then
she adjusted backward.
“Who’s that?” the father asked.
Mrs Anthony stepped inside. “Please, sir, i have never been
insupport of what is going on between you and my husband,
but i just want you to allow your daughter to follow me to
the hospital. I can see the love my son has for her is
unstoppable. He wants to see her badly, please”
Cynthia was already in tears, then she knelt down looking at
her father, “Daddy, please, allow me to go and see him” she
said in tears.
Mr Basi thought for a while. “Is okay, stand up, i will follow
you too” he said and all headed to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Mr Anthony had already arrived at the hospital
seeing his only son awake and sound, then he wondered
where his wife was.
